Local Land Searches
On the 7 April 2021, the Local Land Charges Register moved to HM Land Registry. Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council no longer provide a Local Land Charge search service. You can access the digital service through your portal account, Business Gateway and on the HM Land Registry pages on the GOV.UK HM Land Registry.
There are currently problems with the Local Search system that the provider is investigating. Due to this we cannot guarantee that your search would be completed within 7 days and may be some time longer. Con29 enquiries
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council will continue to provide replies to Con29 enquiries. It is important to remember to only submit the required fee, as stated in the tables below. Please note our current turnaround times for Con29 enquires is 7 working days.

Please note payment is required once a search request has been accepted and work has begun processing. Upon receipt of a Con29 enquiry, the Land Charges Service will determine if the search request will be processed as a residential or commercial search.
